Jim Schmidt was one of the most influential and most admired knife makers ever. He taught a lot of knife makers before his death in 2000. His knives are probably the most desired of any custom knives today. They are very rare and rarely come into the market. This knife called "Fleur-de-lis Dagger" was made in 1980. It is featured in David Darom's book The World Of Art Knives on page 161. The blade has beautiful Ladder Pattern Damascus and is acid etched with a flower and leaf motif on the ricasso and onto the blade. The guard and skull crusher are made of the same Damascus steel. The handle is made of Fluted Fossilized Walrus Ivory. To finish the whole package the Sheath is made of Nickel Silver wrapped in Anaconda snake skin. Don't miss the opportunity of getting a Jim Schmidt knife, they don't come around often.
